    On February 20 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a practical lesson on the topic “Drug trade today - in social networks”. It was conducted by the head of the department of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Candidate of Law, Professor, Lieutenant Colonel Umijon Kodirov.

    First Vice-Rector for Youth Issues and Spiritual and Educational Affairs of the UWED Odil Yusupjanov, opening the meeting, noted that drug addiction, especially among young people, carries many serious threats. Drug addiction has a detrimental effect on health, destroys normal life, and deprives a young person of his future.

    In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel U. Kodirov dwelled on the importance of prevention and education about the dangers of drugs among young people. He informed about current trends in the field of drug trafficking, as well as the use of social networks for the purpose of distributing narcotic substances. The speaker urged to be vigilant so as not to end up in the networks of drug dealers.

    The participants of the class had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the problems and challenges associated with this topical topic.

    The representative of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also dwelled on the increase in the number of road accidents involving young people. He stressed the importance of strict compliance with traffic rules, which are a guarantee of safety.

    During the classes, videos on the topic were demonstrated, which did not leave anyone indifferent.

    At the end of the event, Lieutenant Colonel U. Kodirov answered in detail the questions of students, faculty and staff of the university.
