According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh.M. Mirziyoyev No. PP-330 dated July 23, 2022, "On measures for systemic reform of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy," the Diplomatic Academy began its activities under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in September 2022.

The Diplomatic Academy's organizational and regulatory documents were created and authorized in a comparatively short period of time in accordance with the tasks assigned by the Head of State. These included the Academic Council's establishment, the staffing schedule, curricula, educational initiatives, and a mechanism for evaluating students. Officials of Government agencies and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan attended the Diplomatic Academy's inaugural ceremony on November 1, 2022.

The educational process at the Diplomatic Academy involves local and international experts with deep theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience in international relations. The Academy maintains its position as a preeminent hub for diplomatic training by actively advancing research, international collaboration, and educational initiatives. Compared to 2023–2024, the results show notable progress.

    Educational Activities:

In 2023, the Academy conducted professional development courses for state agency employees. Key topics included digital diplomacy and artificial intelligence. These courses were delivered by Professor Gregory Gleason from the University of New Mexico (USA), providing participants with valuable insights into modern technologies in international relations.

In 2024, the Academy organized 21 professional development courses, including 13 specialized programs for employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Uzbekistan and their families. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Customs Committee, and other organizations.

Thirteen students were accepted into the master's programs for the 2023–2024 school year, and sixteen students were accepted for the 2024–2025 academic year. Diplomats from, Germany, Estonia, India and the USA gave lectures as part of the program. A combined master's program in international business and management with India's "MERI Group of Institutions" is also scheduled to begin in 2025.

    Research Activities:

The Academy initiated the preparation of a joint publication on the history and development of Uzbek-Indian relations.

Seminars and research were conducted to deepen knowledge about international processes in the regions of Central Asia and the Middle East.

In 2024, the Academy released several key publications, including the textbooks “Diplomatic Activity: Analytical Work” and “International Law.” Work on the project “Explanatory Diplomatic Dictionary” continued. Analytical documents on current international issues, including Afghanistan and Iran, were prepared for the Presidential Administration.

    International Cooperation:

Nine Memorandums of understanding were signed with world leading diplomatic academies, including those of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, South Korea, and Bangladesh.

Visits were held with the heads of diplomatic institutions from India, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. During these meetings, discussions focused on teaching methodologies and joint educational projects.

In partnership with the Indian Council for Central Asian Foundations (ICAF), lectures were delivered on the interconnectivity of Central and South Asia, strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The Academy enhanced its collaboration with diplomatic institutions from over ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Turkey, and Estonia. Joint seminars were held, memorandums of understanding were signed, and international events were organized. Among the year’s key events were the presentation of the book “Uzbekistan and India: Prospects for Cooperation” in Tashkent and New Delhi, as well as an international seminar on water law in Central Asia.
