Yakubhodzhayev, total cost - 400,000 thousand dollars, deadline - 2022-2025.   Within the framework of the grant program of the European Union entitled "Assistance to the process of becoming a member of the World Trade Organization of Uzbekistan", 4 professors were trained in the following modules of the Summer Academy of the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern, Switzerland:- Strengthening the management of agricultural products trade;- Recent developments in international investment law and dispute resolution.Also, many experts on the grant program are visiting the university. From May 15 to November 15, 2022, a grant project on "Climate Migration in Central Asia: Challenges and Solutions" was implemented within the framework of the short-term grant program of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation of Germany.The total cost of the project is 20,000 euros, the executors are R. Makhmudov, associate professor of the "International Relations" department (project leader), M. Abdullayeva, a teacher of the "Political Science" department (project assistant), and L. Jorayev, deputy chief accountant (project accountant).The main goal of the project is to identify the possible negative consequences of climate change in Central Asia, and to make recommendations on taking effective measures against them, while summarizing the opinions and forecasts of foreign and Uzbek experts. Also, the task of increasing the relevance of this problem in the academic circles of the region, and in this direction, the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the voice of national scientists and practitioners, is set to reach the wider community.An international conference was organized on October 19 of this year, and 2 master classes for students were organized on October 20 and 29.At the international conference, Professor L. Lombardotsii of the Open University of Great Britain, M. Linke, head of the Central Asia office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation of Germany, Ye. Karimov, deputy director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Economic Research, V. Korotenko, head of the Kyrgyz "BIOM" environmental movement, and Tajikistan's "The Little Earth" T. Idrisov from the NGO, B. Alikhanov, Chairman of the Committee on Development of the Island Region and Ecology of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, A. Irmanov, the National Coordinator of the UN Office on Narcotic Drugs and Crime, and independent researcher B. Eshonov participated in the event. The event was attended by M. Bakhadirov, dean of the "International Relations" faculty, and A. Seitov, director of the laboratory of the Institute of International Prospective Studies, from among university professors and teachers.Specialist V. Korotenko conducted the master class organized on October 20, and on October 29, the chairman of the committee of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Alikhanov lectured the students on the theoretical aspects of current regional environmental problems.The project consists of 2 parts, and the second part of the grant program was signed in January-March 2023 in connection with the cooperation agreement with the Fund. During this period, it is planned to publish the articles presented by the participants of the international conference and the scientific works sent and selected by university professors, students, master's and doctoral students in the form of a collective monograph.

    The project coordinator is A. Umarov, total cost - 26 thousand 500 euros, term - 2022-2025. The Strategy outlines three priority strands for EU engagement: partnering with Central Asian states and societies for resilience (human rights and democracy, security, environmental challenges); partnering for prosperity (supporting economic diversification and private sector development, promoting intra-regional trade and sustainable connectivity); supporting regional cooperation in Central Asia.The new EU Strategy also provides guidance for the preparation of EU aid programming for the period 2021-2027. The negotiation of new-generation Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreements (EPCAs) with Central Asian states has also provided a strong vehicle to forge a more modern and diversified partnership beyond a “trade and aid” agenda and promote cooperation and regulatory convergence in areas which are relevant to the reform processes underway in the region. The EPCA with Kazakhstan has come into force. The EPCA with Kyrgyzstan was initialled in 2019 and work proceeds on preparing the text for signatures. EPCA negotiations with Uzbekistan are nearing completion. The EU is preparing to engage in EPCA negotiations with Tajikistan.  The EU and the Central Asian countries engage in an annual ministerial level meeting as well as a Civil Society Forum. A first EU-Central Asia Economic Forum was organised in November 2021.

    The project coordinator is G. Ismailova, total cost - 100,000 thousand euros, term - 2021-2023. According to the work plan of the joint grant project "Tashkent Jean Monnet Center of Excellence for European studies" on November 25 of this year, "Current problems of international law, European Union law and the national law of Uzbekistan: intersection points and perspectives of interaction" was organized a republican scientific and practical conference. Representatives from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Law, Tashkent State Transport University, professors and students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy took part in this event. During the republican scientific practical conference, trends, transformations and scientific research, principles, international ratings and legal issues of cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Uzbekistan in various fields related to the application of international law, international transport law in the higher education system in the process of reforms in New Uzbekistan and the topic other issues were discussed.Also, within the grant, "Development trends of the EU Law: experiences for Uzbekistan", "Implementation analyzes of the newest strategy of the EU on Central Asia", "EU-Uzbekistan trade cooperation: current trends and prospects", "Who is who in Researches such as European studies in Uzbekistan" are being conducted and the results of these researches are regularly published as articles. In particular, more than 20 different articles were published by project members this year. In addition, such science programs as "Substantive Law of the European Union", "History and development of European political and philosophical thoughts", "WTO/EU trade standards: correlative teaching" are taught.
