On January 27, 2023, an online meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) with Ashraf Bahodirovich Khodjaev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Qatar.

The meeting was attended by G. Ismailova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, deans from the faculties of “International Economics and Management”, “International Relations”, and “International Law”, the Head of the Office for Academic Affairs, faculty members, and representatives from the UWED International Academic Cooperation Office.

In her remarks, G. Ismailova emphasized the promising opportunities for academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration between UWED and universities and research institutions in Qatar. She highlighted the significance of joint research initiatives and the implementation of mobility programs for both faculty and students.

The ambassador expressed strong support for the proposed initiatives, outlining key areas to enhance cooperation and reaffirming the embassy’s commitment to facilitating their successful implementation.

During the discussions, it was proposed to organize an online lecture by A. Khojaev for UWED students, providing insight into the latest developments in Uzbek-Qatari relations and the development model of the State of Qatar.

At the meeting’s conclusion, both parties agreed to continue their collaborative efforts and actively implement the planned initiatives to further strengthen the university’s academic and scientific potential.
