UWED hosts online meeting with Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva
On January 20, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted an online meeting with Eldiyor Ravshanbekovich Toshmatov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, G. Ismailova, deans of the faculties of International Economics and Management, International Relations, and International Law, heads of departments, and representatives of UWED’s International Academic Cooperation Office.
The discussion focused on prospects for cooperation, including organizing guest lectures and expert meetings with representatives of leading analytical centers in Switzerland, arranging internships for UWED students at the headquarters of international organizations located in Geneva, and developing international research projects.
The Permanent Representative highly appreciated the proposed initiatives, emphasized their importance, and expressed readiness to support their implementation. It was also suggested to organize thematic lectures on women’s rights, human rights, and migrant rights with the participation of United Nations special rapporteurs.
During the meeting, participants agreed on further collaboration and implementation of the proposed initiatives to strengthen the University’s academic and research potential.
