    On January 24 of this year, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the famous scientist, professor, doctor of historical sciences Rakhmon Farmonov was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

    Numerous students, doctoral students, masters, students, colleagues from UWED and other educational institutions gathered for this event.

    First Vice-Rector for youth issues and Spiritual and Educational affairs Odil Yusupdzhanov noted the significant scientific and pedagogical activity of R. Farmonov and his great contribution to the training of highly professional personnel.

    It was emphasized that he not only imparts knowledge, but also inspires students to actively participate in research activities and public life.

    O. Yusupdzhanov expressed gratitude to R. Farmonov on behalf of the UWED leadership for his dedication to the cause and wished him health and further success in his work.

    R.Farmonov was born in the Samarkand region, and his path to success began with receiving a silver medal in his school years - the first achievement that predetermined his future career. Throughout his life, he demonstrated outstanding results in scientific activity, which were inextricably linked with his active teaching practice.

    Particular attention should be paid to the joint work of R.Farmonov with the Turkish professor Ataman Kamil Yavuz. As a result of their cooperation, the book "Amir Temur Kuragan and Emperor Napoleon" was translated into Turkish and published in Turkey, which testifies to the international recognition of his scientific works.

    Under the supervision of R. Farmonov, 3 doctoral and 12 candidate dissertations were defended, which testifies to his high qualification as a scientific mentor. He is the author of more than 40 textbooks and teaching aids, as well as 7 monographs. In addition, the result of his multifaceted talents is 5 collections of poems.

    Today, the UWED veteran continues to actively engage in teaching and scientific activities, setting an example of selfless work and devotion to his work.
