On January 16 of this year, a seminar titled "Crimes in Information Technology Committed Among Youth" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The faculty and students of UWED participated in the seminar. The guest was Akmal Muratov, a Master's student at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a lieutenant colonel.

The main objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among youth about the risks they may face in modern society and to discuss ways to prevent offenses, particularly cybercrime. During the seminar, Lieutenant Colonel Muratov gave a presentation on countering crimes related to information technology that involve youth. He highlighted the analysis of current trends in cyberspace and provided specific examples demonstrating the need for immediate action against crime in this area.

The discussion delved into the causes and factors contributing to cybercrime, such as users’ lack of awareness, low digital literacy, and the absence of clear self-defense mechanisms. Participants were presented with data on how law enforcement agencies, particularly internal affairs, implement operational and technical measures to detect and prevent such offenses.

Documentary films and programs illustrating the real dangers of cyber threats and ways to prevent them were shown. Students actively asked questions and received comprehensive answers from experts, highlighting their engagement with the issue and interest in finding solutions.

It is important to note that in today's world, information and communication technology, social networks, and platforms are immensely popular. It is no secret that the internet, alongside its benefits, poses threats to society. The occurrence of crimes via social networks and the harm caused to citizens is no longer surprising. According to data, young people make up the majority of internet users globally, and their numbers are growing rapidly.
