A master class on negotiation theory and practice was held at UWED

On February 25, a master class titled “The Negotiation Process: Theory and Practice” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), led by Oybek Shaykhov, the Secretary General of the Europe-Uzbekistan Association for Economic Cooperation (EuroUz).
Opening the event, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at UWED, Sh. Arapov, expressed gratitude to Mr. Shaykhov for his visit to the university and for dedicating time to meet with the students. He emphasized the importance of such lectures for future leaders and diplomats, noting that they help develop key skills necessary for a successful career.
Mr. Shaikhov delivered a lecture in which he discussed the negotiation process, covering both the basics of theory and the practical aspects of successful negotiations. He thoroughly explained the role of soft and hard skills in the negotiation process, shared his own experiences, and highlighted the importance of cultural differences, using the Lewis model as a framework.
Additionally, recommendations for books that can help improve negotiation skills were provided, sparking great interest among the students. The lecture took place in an interactive atmosphere, allowing students to actively engage in discussions and ask questions, receiving useful and insightful answers.
