On December 4 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an international scientific and practical conference "Foreign Language in Professional Communication".

The conference, organized by the Department of Oriental Languages ​​of the UWED Language Training Center, was attended by teachers of universities of Uzbekistan, foreign universities, postgraduate students and applicants conducting research in the field of teaching foreign languages.

At the opening of the conference, the Vice-Rector for science and innovation of UWED, Doctor of Law, Professor Gulnoza Ismailova addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

During the plenary session, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, as well as JICA and KOICA spoke.

After the plenary session, three breakout sessions were held: Theory and practice of professionally oriented teaching of foreign languages: challenges of the time; Issues of the theory and practice of translation in the formation of professional communication; Language, culture and intercultural communication.

The scientific forum included a discussion of current issues related to the study and teaching of foreign languages ​​in higher education institutions, and also considered key approaches to modernization and optimization of the educational process, taking into account modern trends in the field of professional communication. Following the conference, it is planned to publish a collection of articles "Foreign Language in Professional Communication" in electronic format.
