On November 13 of this year, a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akram Umarov and Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Gulnoza Ismailova.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of cooperation in the field of scientific and educational programs, as well as the possibility of enhancing partnership between educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Europe.

EU Ambassador T. Klaar noted that such cooperation opens up new horizons for joint initiatives and exchange of experience.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the prospects for expanding the UWED partnership with leading European universities aimed at developing academic programs and research projects.

The Ambassador also praised the level of preparation and successful holding of the Parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan, noting their importance for strengthening democratic processes in the country and increasing its authority in the international arena.

The meeting of the UWED leadership with the head of the EU diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan was an important step towards deepening ties between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the field of higher education and scientific research.
