Students of the UWED visited a boarding school for blind children as part of the "Swallow" project

On April 18 of this year, as part of the "Swallow" project of the Legal Clinic of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of International Law of the University visited Specialized Boarding School No. 77 for blind children in Tashkent. This visit became an important part of projects aimed at protecting the rights of underage girls and people with disabilities and providing them with legal assistance.
The "Swallow" project was created by the Legal Clinic with the aim of increasing legal literacy and providing practical assistance to vulnerable segments of society, and also creates a unique platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
During the visit to the boarding school, the students gave a presentation on the rights of people with disabilities, in particular, blind children, and their access to education, health care, social protection and other legal guarantees. During the presentation, the children's questions and opinions were heard, and explanations were given on legal issues of interest to them.
The main goal of the visit was to familiarize the younger generation with their rights, to form a legal culture in them, and to strengthen compassion and attention to members of society with disabilities. The students also met with the administration and teachers of the boarding school and learned more about the educational process of children and support mechanisms.
Emphasizing the importance of the project, the head of the UWED legal clinic Z. Ubaidullaev said: "This initiative of our students within the framework of the "Swallow" project is very important. As future lawyers, they must deeply understand that the rights of every member of society must be protected. Such visits, along with developing their professional skills, will also serve to sharpen their humanitarian feelings."
The administration of boarding school No. 77 expressed its gratitude, noting that the students' visit was a great motivation for the children and helped them improve their level of legal knowledge.
The "Swallow" project plans to continue such good initiatives within its framework, implementing various events and projects aimed at protecting the rights of people with disabilities and minors.
