Georgy Toniyants stood at the very origins of the formation of the University, working from the beginning at the Department of World Economy, and then from 1997 to 2014 was the head of the Economic Theory Department, then a professor at the department. Over the years of work at UWED, Georgy Toniyants made a significant contribution to the effective organization of the educational process, the high quality of training of international specialists, he prepared and published monographs and textbooks, scientific articles, abstracts of reports at scientific conferences in Uzbekistan and abroad at UWED.

Diligence, breadth of scientific interests, pedagogical talent Georgy Toniyants earned deep respect among colleagues and students.
