Master class on family relations in International Private Law in the framework of implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

On 14 April this year at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy a master class on “Family relations in International Private Law” was held for 3rd year students of the faculty “International Law”.
For the master class was invited a specialist in the field of family relations in International Private Law Doctor of Law, professor of the Department of “Private International Law” of the Tashkent State University of Law Raxmonkulova Nilufar Xodji-Akbarovna.
During the master class, professor N. Raxmonkulova highlighted in detail the topical issues related to the conflict of laws regulation of family legal relations and professor Dilfuza Imamova of the Civil Law and Private International Law Department of UWED also touched upon issues related to the main Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their interrelation with the topic under discussion.
The students showed a high interest in the discussed topic, actively participated in the discussion, asked questions concerning the practical application of the norms of Private International Law in family relations and received substantial and reasoned answers.
The master class directly contributes to SDG 16 “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies, ensure access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and participatory institutions at all levels”, in particular 16.3 aimed at “Promoting the rule of law and equal access to justice for all” and SDG 17 “Partnership for Sustainable Development’, in particular 17.6 aimed at “Strengthening international cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation”. Also increasing access to them, as it promotes international co-operation, knowledge exchange and educational opportunities in the field of Private International Law.
The master class was a significant contribution to the development of academic dialogue, strengthening of scientific ties and improvement of the educational process in the field of science.
