On March 25, 2025, the Diplomatic Academy at the UWED hosted the first joint online meeting with representatives of the Italian Society of International Relations (SIOI), which was attended by the teaching staff and students of the master's program Diplomatic Academy's, as well as UWED students and doctoral students. The Italian side was represented by Ambassador Maurizio Menni, Prof. Giulio Pecora and SIOI staff.

During the presentation, SIOI representatives highlighted the role of Italy in the activities of the European Union. It was also noted that Italy has good relations with the countries of Central Asia and is currently working together to build renewable energy sources with these countries.

Along with this, Italian diplomats provided advice to young diplomats on shaping the country's image. SIOI experts noted that from a historical point of view, Uzbekistan is an interesting country. In order to increase the country's recognition, it was proposed to actively use the media as a tool that shapes public opinion about a particular country. SIOI representatives also emphasized the importance of cooperation between Italy and Uzbekistan at the regional and global levels.

Dean of the Faculty of Retraining and Advanced Training of Diplomatic Personnel of the Diplomatic Academy I. Fayzullaev gave a lecture on the updated foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, noting the readiness and openness of the Republic to cooperate with foreign countries.
