On February 12 of this year, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Uzbekistan Konstantin Obolensky visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The meeting, organized within the framework of the course "Modern International Relations, World Economy and Interests of Uzbekistan", was attended by students and faculty of UWED.

Opening the event, the first vice-rector for academic work of UWED Akram Umarov, thanking the high-ranking diplomat for the visit, noted that successful cooperation has been established between the university and the Swiss Embassy, and such meetings largely contribute to expanding the horizons of students.

    K. Obolensky gave a lecture on the topic "Switherland: political system and economy of a landlocked country", in which he provided detailed information about the political and economic system of Switzerland.

In his speech, the Ambassador noted that Switzerland, despite the lack of direct access to the sea, has built one of the most competitive and innovative economies in the world.

He also emphasized that his country's ties with Uzbekistan, established in 1992 in the fields of science and education, healthcare, inclusive and sustainable development, public administration, environmental protection and others, have been effectively continuing for 33 years.

At the end of the lecture, a question and answer session was held between the speaker and the audience. Students received answers to their questions about Switzerland and its relations with Uzbekistan.
