    On January 15, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a meeting with Laura Brown, Public Affairs Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, accompanied by Public Affairs staff members Harris Lipscomb and Saida Musakhanova. 

    The meeting began with an introduction to UWED’s activities, including its research projects on American studies conducted at the Institute for Advanced International Studies, as well as various collaborative initiatives with foreign partners. 

    During the discussion, Ms. Brown highlighted the positive trajectory of Uzbek-American bilateral relations and emphasized Uzbekistan's role in promoting multilateral cooperation in the region. She also noted the growing interest of U.S. scholars in Central Asian studies. 

    The meeting focused on advancing academic and scientific collaboration. UWED expressed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with American universities and research institutions to facilitate student and faculty exchange programs, joint educational projects, training sessions, and professional development courses. 

    Concluding the meeting, Ms. Brown affirmed her willingness to support UWED’s initiatives to expand bilateral cooperation and foster further development of Uzbek-American relations in the fields of education and science.
