On October 23, Frank Maracchione, an expert on Central Asia at the Institute of Political and Economic Research at the British University of Sheffield (United Kingdom), visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Dr. Maracchione has invited to Uzbekistan as an international observer to participate in the  Parliamentary elections-2024.

During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of intensifying educational and research cooperation between Italian and UK universities and UWED. They discussed the prospects for implementing joint projects, attracting foreign scholars to the educational process and joint research on topics of mutual interest.

The guest expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and readiness for closer cooperation with UWED.

It should be noted that the University of Sheffield is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the UK, founded in 1905. In the “Times Higher Education” World University Rankings 2024, it ranks 105th in the world and 13th in the UK.
