On June 24 this year, at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy was held a meeting with a delegation headed by the President of the Korea Foundation (Republic of Korea) Kim Gheewhan. Welcoming the guests, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev emphasized that Uzbek-Korean multifaceted relations are developing at a high level of dynamics. He also noted the success of the project "Uzbekistan-Korean Relations: Past, Present and Prospects in the Context of Global Problems", implemented by the foundation jointly with the Institute for Advanced International Studies at UWED. 

President of the Korea Foundation Kim Gheewhan, in turn, noted that Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, is an important region for the Republic of Korea, and proposed the implementation of joint research and regional international forums in the future. 

The meeting also discussed the possibility of allocating grants for organizing Korean language courses in the Republic of Korea for UWED students. 

At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized that the implementation of projects between Uzbekistan and Korea will serve to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science, culture, humanities and higher education.
