A meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy
On December 21, a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeenbek Kulubaev, visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The distinguished diplomat was welcomed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Rector of UWED, Sodyq Safoev.
During the meeting, which involved members of the Senate and deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, discussions took place regarding the cooperation between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on strengthening inter-parliamentary ties to fulfill agreements at the highest level and promote prospective projects that facilitate practical cooperation at the regional and business levels. Additionally, cultural and humanitarian events in both countries were discussed. Special attention was given to the development of partnerships in the field of education and academic exchanges.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a ceremonial event was held to confer the title of Honorary Doctor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev.
“It is a great honor for me to meet with students and faculty of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and to be awarded the title of Honorary Doctor from this renowned institution. I will continue to exert all efforts to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan”, stated J. Kulubaev.
On the same day, a round table discussion on the topic of “Development of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic: Current State and Perspectives” took place at UWED. S. Safoev, opening the event, highlighted that, thanks to the political will of the leaders of both states and the establishment of trustful relations between them, Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations have entered a completely new level of strategic partnership.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, J. Kulubaev, delivered a comprehensive speech addressing the current state and prospects of relations between the two states. Representatives of the university's faculty, experts, and analysts from the Institute of Prospective International Studies at UWED focused on strategic aspects of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations in their presentations, highlighting significant prospects in bilateral relations and new trends in the regional development of Central Asia, as well as regional and global issues.
The event concluded with the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The document was signed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Rector of UWED, S. Safoev, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, J. Kulubaev.
