The “Turkish Language Festival” was held at UWED

On April 24 of this year, the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized an event dedicated to the Turkish Language Festival.
The event was attended by the UWED leadership, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan Ufuk Ulutaş, representatives of the embassy, Major General Semih Okyar, and, within the framework of international cooperation and exchange of best practices, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in Burdur (Türkiye), prof. Dursun Kose, Deputy Head of the TIKA Representative Office in Uzbekistan Albina Tuzlu, representative of the TRT channel in Tashkent Nizam Shahin, teacher of the Tashkent Turkish Lyceum Musa Kaya, as well as representatives of the general public, including the chairperson of the Katta Kora Suv mahalla committee of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent Naima Jabbarova, chairperson of the Tuzel mahalla committee of the Yashnabad district of Tashkent Feruza Toshova, activist of the women's movement of the mahalla Yuldasheva Adiba, as well as the faculty, students of the university and their parents.
The event was opened by the first vice-rector for academic affairs of UWED Akram Umarov. In his speech, he paid special attention to the meaning and essence of the holiday, emphasizing the importance of respect for language, as well as demonstrating history, culture and common values. “Our university pays great attention to teaching the Turkish language, and in recent years the number of students studying this language has increased significantly,” said A. Umarov.
Ambassador Ufuk Ulutaş emphasized in his speech that Uzbekistan and Turkey pay special attention to further expanding comprehensive ties, including cooperation in the field of education, as well as developing partnerships with leading universities in Turkey. He spoke about the prospects for effective cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey and the important aspects of these relations.
The program of the event was filled with bright and unforgettable presentations, excerpts from poems by famous Turkish poets, national and modern dances, classical and fiery modern songs, interesting stage performances. At the end of the event, a festive table called “Turkish sweets” was organized.
The event was held at a high level and in high spirits. Such events inspire students studying Turkish and contribute to the improvement of interstate relations.
