On April 22, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Actual Issues of International Law". In accordance with the goals of the Strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030", the conference became an important stage in promoting the idea of an open, pragmatic and active dialogue in the global arena.

Bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Higher School of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting, Tashkent State Law University and other specialized institutions, the conference became an example of how the scientific community and international organizations can unite to discuss key legal issues of our time.

The conference was also attended by experts from the Organization of Turkic States, as well as experts in the field of international law from France, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.

The University provided a neutral platform for the exchange of views and professional experience, creating a space for open discussions of global legal and ethical issues. The conference discussed not only traditional issues of international law, but also more modern challenges, such as the legal regulation of artificial intelligence and its impact on human rights. In addition, the conference featured a presentation of the project “Teaching International Law: A Turkic Perspective”, which is part of the Turkic Academy grant aimed at developing scientific and educational cooperation between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States.

The forum participants proposed specific solutions aimed at improving legal norms within the framework of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, including improving legislation in the field of foreign trade and international treaties. Particular attention was paid to expanding Uzbekistan's participation in international and regional organizations, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as the implementation of international standards in national legislation.

These discussions became a powerful incentive for further development of an open dialogue between countries, strengthening global legal mechanisms and improving interaction in the international arena. An important outcome of the conference will be a collection of scientific abstracts, which will contain the key findings and recommendations voiced at the event. This collection will be available to a wide audience, allowing everyone to become familiar with the ideas put forward by experts on a platform for impartial and professional discussions. The conference at UWED has become an important contribution to the development of international cooperation, creating a space for a comprehensive exchange of knowledge and ideas in the field of open legal discussions.
