    On November 5 this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy was visited by the Director General of the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS, Hungary) for International Relations, Liliana Śmiech, and the Chief Advisor, Professor Laszlo Vasa.

    During the meeting of the UWED management with the Hungarian delegation, the prospects for cooperation in such areas as higher education and scientific research in the field of international relations were discussed.

    Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the University, Gulnoza Ismailova, emphasized the common interest in developing specialized programs for students and specialists that will consider the economic, cultural and political ties between the two regions. She noted the transformative impact of academic exchanges on strengthening mutual understanding, pointing to the strong higher education sector of Hungary, which can become an important partner for UWED.

    In turn, Liliana Śmiech emphasized the potential for joint growth, emphasizing that Hungary views Central Asia, and especially Uzbekistan, not only as a promising economically, but also as a cultural and intellectual partner. She also noted that cultural diplomacy could become an important tool for strengthening mutual understanding and trust between the parties.

    On the same day, a round table was held on current trends in relations between Hungary and Uzbekistan, as well as with other countries in the region. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening ties through educational exchanges, joint research and initiatives focused on foreign policy priorities.

    The participants of the event exchanged views and ideas on how to promote further expansion of political, trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Central Asia and this country of the European Union.

    As part of the program of their visit, Liliana Śmiech and Professor Laszlo Vasa delivered a lecture to UWED students on the topic: "Connectivity issues of the "central" - transport and energy links between Central Europe and Central Asia." In their speech, they placed special emphasis on the critical importance of developing reliable transport and energy networks to connect Central Asia with Europe, which is a key topic in modern geopolitics. The speakers emphasized the importance of energy diversification, sustainable infrastructure development and improvement of transport corridors, which are necessary to strengthen economic ties and logistics capabilities of both regions.

    At the end of the lecture, the students asked the speakers questions of interest to them and received detailed answers.

    The meeting at UWED with LUPS representatives was an important step towards further deepening the partnership in the educational sphere and expanding scientific exchange.
