On April 18, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted the opening ceremony of the “UWED WEEK” week, aimed at supporting the creative potential, intellectual development and social activity of young people.

The event was attended by the leadership of the university, in particular, the First Vice-Rector for Youth issues and Spiritual and Educational Affairs O. Yusupdjanov, Advisor to the Rector A. Turdimatov, as well as deputy deans of faculties, tutors, the chairman of the Youth Union and students of UWED.

The peculiarity of this event is that within the framework of this year's UWED WEEK, cooperation with the Chirchik Higher Tank Command and Engineering School was established for the first time. The military-patriotic club, created within the framework of this cooperation, has become an important step in increasing the interest of young people in the military sphere and educating them in the spirit of devotion to the Motherland.

Opening the event, the First Vice-Rector for Youth issues and Spiritual and Educational Affairs O. Yusupjanov emphasized the importance of the week and its role in increasing the activity and creative potential of students. He noted that this week is organized within the framework of the “Student Spring Festival” and wished young people good luck and new achievements.

After that, O. Yusupjanov presented symbolic flags to the leaders of more than 10 student clubs operating at the university. In particular, the active participation of the following clubs in the framework of “UWED WEEK” was noted:

• Chess Club

• Club “Intellectual Game”

• Artbrunch Club

• Diplomatic Synergy Club

• Book club

• Cooking Girls Club

Professor Wang Weihong from the People's Republic of China spoke as a guest of honor at the event. In her speech, she shared her views on strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, the opportunities created for young people, and the youth policy pursued in both countries.

Also during the event, the head of the Incubation Center created at the UWED made a presentation, who provided information about new opportunities created for students, innovative projects and startup initiatives.

This opening ceremony marked the beginning of UWED WEEK. Such events play a key role in developing the creative potential and activity of students, as well as in strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and cooperation among them.
