On April 7, 2025, the leadership of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy met with Dr. Johan Engvall, analyst at the Stockholm Center for Eastern European Studies, and Dr. Mikael Weissmann, Associate Professor at the Swedish Defence University.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of current trends in international cooperation, as well as potential avenues for scientific and analytical partnership between Uzbekistan and Sweden.

The dialogue was held in a constructive and substantive atmosphere, covering a wide range of issues — from regional development and cooperation in Central Asia to aspects of European collaboration. Special attention was given to the exchange of expert opinions on key issues of the current international agenda and the role of academic institutions in strengthening intergovernmental dialogue.

The issue of cooperation between the European Union and Central Asian countries was also discussed.

A particular emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing academic and research exchanges as a foundation for creating new directions for international cooperation. Both sides expressed their interest in developing sustainable scientific ties and continuing joint work. The meeting marked an important step in deepening expert cooperation between the countries.
