On April 10, 2025, the National Research University "TIIAME" hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Water diplomacy in Central Asia: trust, dialogue and multilateral cooperation for sustainable development".

This conference was organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources, the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers", the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the German Society for International Cooperation, the International Institute for Water Management and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, as well as the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

It was attended by over 100 representatives from more than ten countries, including representatives of states using the water bodies of the two largest rivers of Central Asia - the Amu Darya and Syr Darya, experts and specialists from specialized research institutes of Asian and European countries, as well as representatives of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The purpose of the conference was to strengthen regional cooperation in the field of water resources management in Central Asia.

The conference became a practical example of large-scale and fruitful regional cooperation and inclusive dialogue, which has become a good practice in Central Asia today.
