    As part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing students' knowledge in the field of appellate and cassation court proceedings, a master class was held on March 25, 2025, at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

    The class was led by Judge Umid Saydakhmedov, a judge at the Economic Court of Tashkent region, PhD in Law, and professor. Professors from the Department of Civil Law and International Private Law, as well as third-year students of the Faculty of International Law, also participated in the event.

    Professor Umid Saydakhmedov introduced the legal foundations and practices necessary for the effective and fair implementation of the judicial process, sharing his views on the prospects for the development of the judicial system.

    During the master class, Judge provided detailed insights into the procedures and unique aspects of appellate and cassation court proceedings, as well as upcoming changes in the field. Additionally, the experience of developed countries with advanced practices in appellate and cassation courts, and their role in modern legal practice, was widely discussed. This experience is particularly significant for legal professionals and those involved in the judicial system, as it plays a vital role in shaping effective judicial practices and improving the legal system.

    The students showed great interest in the discussed topics and asked various questions about the peculiarities of appellate and cassation court proceedings. They received detailed answers from the expert.

    This master class aligns with Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) – "Contributing to the establishment of peaceful and open societies in the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring access to justice for all, and establishing effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels," specifically Target 16.3 – "Promoting the rule of law and ensuring equal access to justice for all."

    The master class helped students develop a deep understanding of the procedures in appellate and cassation court proceedings, prepared them for modern legal practices, and will play an important role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
