    On March 5, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference on “Current issues of increasing the international competitiveness of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

    The purpose of the conference was to discuss key issues and opportunities related to strengthening Uzbekistan's position in the world market, increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, developing exports and investment attractiveness in the context of global changes.

    The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation of the UWED, Professor Ismailova Gulnoza, representatives of the National Office for Innovation and Technology Transfer, the Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of our country, as well as the teaching staff, students, doctoral students and undergraduates of UWED.

    The speakers presented research in the fields of international economics, international trade, finance, law, sociology and other interdisciplinary areas.

    The event was organized by the Department of International Economics of the UWED. The conference program included a scientific discussion on the following topics: the level of international competitiveness of the economy of Uzbekistan and its factors; strategies for increasing export potential in the context of deepening economic reforms; innovation, digitalization and technological development as drivers of competitiveness; measures to attract investment and improve the business environment; new directions and opportunities for international economic cooperation.

    The conference facilitated an exchange of views between scientists, experts and business representatives, allowing the formation of a set of proposals to increase the competitiveness of the Uzbek economy in the international arena.
