On November 19 of this year, Abdulaziz Abduganiyev, Deputy Head of the Department of Cooperation with the UN and Other International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, held a master class with UWED students on the topic “The UN as a Symbol of Universal Values.”

The lesson was organized as part of the subject “Political Culture” for 4th-year students of the Faculty of International Relations.

As part of this seminar, the speaker explained that with the creation of the United Nations, the basis for the modern stage of international legal regulation of the protection of human and individual rights was created. At the same time, the member states of the United Nations "are necessary for the development of friendly relations between all countries and the maintenance of peace." It was reported that they have committed themselves to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, which are considered to be of great importance for well-being and prosperity, as well as to recognize their general importance.

The diplomat conducted a fascinating master class, filled with interesting information on the topic, and gave memorable examples from practice.

He particularly noted the unique contribution of Uzbekistan, strengthening peace and security, and developing international cooperation, as provided for by the UN Charter. The success of the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Sh. Mirziyoyev, the main goal of which is peace, stability in the country, and improving the well-being of the people, is recognized by the international community.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered numerous questions from students regarding our country’s cooperation with the UN and its structures.
