On 12-13 November 2024, the head of the department of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sherzodbek Masadikov acted as a moderator and speaker at the international seminar on alternative resolution of commercial disputes for representatives of private businesses, business associations and government agencies.

The seminar was organized by the Higher School of Business and Entrepreneurship in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank.

The speakers included leading foreign experts from Italy, Germany, Poland, as well as local specialists in the field of alternative dispute resolution, representing leading arbitration and arbitration institutions in Uzbekistan.

The participants of the seminar noted that in the context of improving the business environment and improving business in Uzbekistan, one of the key issues is the development of an effective system of alternative dispute resolution in the activities of business entities. Moreover, in modern conditions, business interaction between business entities is increasing not only in the domestic market, but also at the international level.

An important point in improving alternative dispute resolution is resolution of commercial disputes based on the use of mediation, domestic and international arbitration. This increases the level of dispute resolution culture in the business community and creates trust between partners in the settlement of various commercial disputes and disagreements.

During the seminar, the participants also considered the national features of resolving commercial disputes in Uzbekistan, the current legislation in the field of mediation, arbitration and arbitration of commercial disputes, as well as the specifics of their consideration.
