The festive event “Day of German Language and Culture” was held at UWED
On November 1 of this year, a festive event dedicated to the “Day of German Language and Culture” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The event was attended by the university management, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to our country Manfred Huterer, Katharina Holman from Augsburg city and Ina Aysen from Bremen, who are undergoing an internship at the Goethe Institute in Uzbekistan, executive director of the Uzbekistan-Germany Friendship Society Yusuf Niyazmetovich Ismailov, honored artist of Uzbekistan, professor of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, artistic director and chief conductor of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments “Sogdiana” of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan Firuza Ravshanovna Abdurakhimova, soloist of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments “Sogdiana” of the State Philharmonic, laureate of the State Prize “Nikhol”, laureate of International competitions Khadicha Imamnazarova, faculty, university students and their parents.
Odil Yusufdjanov, First Vice-Rector of Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work at UWED, opened the event with a congratulatory speech. In his speech, he emphasized the growing interest in studying the German language among the youth of Uzbekistan, as well as at our university, and along with this, the leadership of Uzbekistan pays special attention to expanding comprehensive relations with Germany, including cooperation in the field of education, that is, increasing the number of general and higher educational institutions where the German language is taught, as well as developing cooperation with leading German universities. In addition, he proposed to consider the issue of establishing cooperation between UWED and specialized German universities.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to our country Manfred Huterer in his speech noted the prospects for effective cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany and important aspects of these relations. During the festive event, Ambassador once again emphasized the growing interest in the German language among students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The concert program was full of bright, unforgettable presentations, reading of poems by outstanding German poets, folk and modern dances, lyrical and fiery songs, and especially charmed everyone with the wonderful performance of the song “Yodeln” by the soloist of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments "Sogdiana" of the State Philharmonic, laureate of the State Prize “Nikhol”, laureate of International competitions Khadicha Imamnazarova.
At the end of the event, a presentation "ABC" was shown with interesting information about Germany and after that an interesting game Kahoot was held among students on the topic “Germany”, in which the students actively participated and received prizes.
The teachers of the Department of “Romano-Germanic Languages” expressed gratitude to all students for their active participation in this event and presented the students with memorable prizes donated by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe Institute in Uzbekistan. The event was held at a high level, such events inspire students studying German and serve to improve interstate relations.
