A round table on the topic “Transformation of the Electoral System in the New Uzbekistan” was held at UWED
On October 21 of this year, a round table on the topic of "Transformation of the Electoral System in the New Uzbekistan" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The event was attended by faculty, leading legal experts and students of UWED.
During the round table, democratic reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan were discussed, in particular news and changes in the electoral system. As noted at the event, elections in the country are an important foundation of democracy, and their fair and transparent conduct is important for improving the efficiency of public administration.
The speakers especially noted that thanks to newly adopted laws, electoral processes have become more transparent, and citizens' opportunities to participate in elections have expanded. Particular attention was also paid to the role of the new system in increasing public activity in political processes.
Students and participants took an active part in the discussions, asking questions of interest to them. Following the round table, a number of proposals and recommendations were developed for further improvement of the new electoral system.
