On September 24 of this year, a delegation headed by the Minister of Education, Universities and Scientific Research of Italy Anna Maria Bernini visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the management, faculty and students of UWED.

Welcoming the Italian delegation, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev noted the expansion of bilateral strategic partnership and multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in priority areas. In this context, he paid special attention to the need to intensify academic exchanges between UWED and leading universities in Italy. S. Safoev also proposed creating joint scientific projects that could contribute to the implementation of the scientific experience of universities of the two countries in the future.

In turn, A. Bernini emphasized the importance of developing new educational programs to deepen students' political, economic and legal knowledge and improve their qualifications in the future.

The event included a discussion of the prospects for expanding student exchange programs between UWED and Italian universities. The parties also planned to conclude agreements providing for holding scientific conferences and seminars, as well as organizing special training courses for students.

At the end of the event, UWED students gave a presentation in Italian, in which they provided information about the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and UWED’s cooperation with Italian universities.
