From July 28 to August 8 of this year, representatives of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy took part in the international summer school "New Era for the Turkic World" in Istanbul (Turkey).

The event was organized by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Uzbekistan), the Institute of Development and Diplomacy at ADA University (Azerbaijan) and the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmad Yasawi (Kazakhstan), Ibn Khaldun University (IHU, Turkey), organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies.

The summer school was attended by more than 60 participants from the educational and scientific circles of the USA, Germany, England, China, Iran, Russia, India, Poland, Pakistan, Bulgaria and 20 OTS member countries. In the panel discussion and lectures of the program, together with highly qualified specialists from the world's leading educational and research institutions, the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs A. Umarov, the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations G. Ismailova, and professors and teachers acted as speakers of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).

During the program, issues of global and regional security, logistics and transport corridors, educational and humanitarian cooperation, and environmental climate issues were discussed in detail.

The most pressing topic of the summer school was the problem of identity (national, Turkic, Central Asian, post-Soviet identity) in the modern Turkic-speaking world.

Attention was drawn to the importance of preserving cultural identity in the context of globalization and interaction.

According to the participants, holding an international summer school was an important step in strengthening scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange between the Turkic world and countries beyond its borders.

The course not only created a unique opportunity to discuss major global and regional issues, but also contributed to the development of international dialogue on various issues.
