A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a master class on the security of international supply chains
On 8 November, a master class on the security of international supply chains was held for master students of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
Abdulaziz Abduganiyev, Deputy Head of the Department for Cooperation with the United Nations and Other International Organisations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated as a speaker.
He introduced the concepts of supply chains, their security, risks and measures taken to eliminate them, as well as microeconomic and macroeconomic aspects of supply chains.
Analytical information on modern international supply chain issues and the global supply chain was then presented.
According to the speaker, as the geopolitical situation becomes more complex, new types of supply chain problems arise for almost all countries, increasing the risk of economic and financial crises.
A.Abduganiyev presented information about the tensions in the global supply chain during the Covid-2019 pandemic, when it was necessary to make non-standard decisions in an unexpected and difficult-to-resolve environment.
The diplomat held a very interesting masterclass. It was full of interesting information on the topic, with real-life examples.
In particular, the speaker pointed out that: "Ensuring the sustainability of international supply chains is directly linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Efforts to protect supply chains and reduce their vulnerability to external crises contribute to ensuring decent work and economic growth, developing industry, innovation and infrastructure, as well as consuming and producing responsibly.
Mr Abduganiyev concluded that global logistics can become more sustainable and environmentally friendly if countries, companies and international organisations actively cooperate, follow UN recommendations and adopt innovative approaches to mitigate the risks.
