    On October 10, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted the international scientific conference “History and Archeology. Cultural heritage and increasing the value of territories”.

    The difference was attended by the administration and researchers of the National Archaeological Center, the Institute of History, the Institute of Art Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, scientists from the Institute of Oriental Studies (Italy), the academic personnel of UWED and representatives of other research institutions of our country.

    Welcoming the conference participants, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev noted the great importance of joint scientific research for achieving new successes and strengthening relations of cooperation and friendship between countries and peoples.

    The Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna drew attention to the strengthening of multifaceted relations between the two countries and the great prospects for partnership in the field of science and education.

    Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhrom Abdukhalimov highly appreciated the work of Italian archaeologists together with Uzbek colleagues, who discovered unique objects that will become the basis for extensive research.

    During the panel speeches, the rector of the University of Naples – L’Oriental (East) Carlo Alfonso Nallino, considering issues of Islamic heritage, especially noted the contribution of the great scientists and theologians who lived in the territory of present-day Uzbekistan.

    In turn, the representative of this university, director of the Italian archaeological mission in Uzbekistan Bruno Genito spoke about the results of research conducted on our territory, which will contribute to the disclosure and assessment of the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.
