A meeting was held at the Prince Saud al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The delegation headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev, during a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on May 30, held a meeting at the Institute for Diplomatic Studies named after Prince Saud al-Faisal under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country.
At the beginning of the meeting, information was provided on the large-scale reforms carried out in New Uzbekistan, on the country's entry into an important stage in its development, as well as on achievements in the political, economic and social spheres.
In turn, the leadership of the institute highly appreciated the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and noted their readiness to further expand cooperation with the Uzbek side.
The head of the Institute for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Odil bin Hassan al-Imroniy, stressed that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia in August 2022 and the agreements reached within it raised the multifaceted Uzbek-Saudi relations to a qualitatively new level.
During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy, established under the UWED on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, were discussed. It is planned to hold exchange lectures on the current situation in the regions of Central Asia and the Middle East, organize advanced training courses for students of the diplomatic academy, joint scientific and practical conferences, seminars and workshops.
The parties also reached an agreement on the joint organization of the Research Center under the UWED, which deals with issues of politics, economics, culture and security of the Islamic world.
As a result of negotiations between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Institute for Diplomatic Studies named after Prince Saud al-Faisal, a “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation” was signed.
