First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev met with the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan F. Muradov.

During the dialogue, it was especially emphasized that relations between Tashkent and Baku have been raised to a qualitatively new level in recent years thanks to the regular dialogue established at the level of the leaders of the two countries, the strong political will and the joint efforts of the leaders.

It was also noted that traditional close and very effective relations are developing between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, and the role of the chambers of parliament is important in these processes.

F. Muradov expressed gratitude for the fact that the leadership and government of the Republic of Uzbekistan attaches great importance to strengthening interethnic and interfaith relations, for practical efforts aimed at developing the Azerbaijani diaspora in Uzbekistan, especially at preserving and popularizing Azerbaijani culture and traditions, as well as for creating favorable conditions for learning the Azerbaijani language.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
