Within the framework of the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, a panel discussion was held on the topic “Organization of Turkic States: a unique model of cooperation”, during which the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the Turkic world were considered.

The event was attended by Binali Yildirim, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the OTS; Elchin Amirbekov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments; Marat Karabayev, Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan; Sodyq Safaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy; Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS; and Asein Isaev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

In the discussion, S. Safaev noted that the modern world faces enormous challenges, such as environmental disasters, conflicts, and various forms of organized crime. According to him, the creation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has become a collective response to these challenges, serving as a platform for the Turkic peoples to comprehensively address contemporary global issues. He emphasized that it is not merely a forum for discussions, but an organization for concrete action.

    S. Safaev stressed that the OTS, being a unique organization, offers an important vision for addressing various issues. He pointed out that the organization was originally established as a structure focused on shared culture, vision, and values, rather than solely promoting trade and economic development.

He also noted that while trade and economic cooperation is of great importance among the goals of establishing the organization, the most crucial aspects are mutual understanding, common principles, and values. “The OTS has proven to the whole world that this is possible. It has shown that such a unique organization can be created. We, as the OTS, need to better adapt to the world and act with awareness of the dynamic transformations taking place globally,” Safaev said.

In this context, he emphasized the importance of interconnected relationships, reminding that previously, the lack of connections between them posed a challenge for strengthening. In this regard, he highlighted the significance of a common alphabet and transport as key elements that will unite them.

“For us, as the OTS, it is crucial to be an organization that unites nations sharing common views and values,” S. Safayev concluded.
