UWED hosted a master class by the head of the InterForum translation service

On February 20th, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a master class presented by Konstantin Golota, who is the head of the InterForum translation department under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This session, organized by UWED's English Department, in which the faculty and students of UWED took part.
The presentation was devoted to the training of highly qualified interpreters and translators, as well as the development of interpreting practice in accordance with international standards. Along with this, professional opportunities for UWED students were presented.
The meeting also included information about InterForum, a team of specialists engaged in the full-scale development and implementation of projects for holding high-level events, using modern technical capabilities, original ideas and key trends in the event industry.
Mr. Golota's extensive experience at the UN and other international organizations and his impressive professional record profoundly inspired the students. This motivation was further amplified by UWED's robust language program, which offers students in-depth language acquisition, culminating in English-medium instruction and the option of pursuing a second foreign language from among twelve options.
The masterclass emphasized the distinctions of interpretation, devoting significant attention to the crucial role of theme-rheme relations in sentence structure. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to quality and a willingness to combine translation, interpretation, and administrative responsibilities.
Mr. Golota emphasized the demand for talented young interpreters, particularly those with the potential to contribute to high-profile state events such as InterForum.
The session included a Q&A, providing students with insightful guidance on contemporary professional requirements and the nuances of conference interpretation. An agreement to hold such meetings on a regular basis has been reached.
