    A Indian language festival was held at UWED

    On January 28 of this year, the Indian Language Festival, dedicated to “World Hindi Day” and “Republic Day of India” was held for the first time at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

    The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Smita Pant,  Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy M. Shrinivas, President of the Indian company “Shayana Farm”, Ashok Tiwari, Hindi language professor Manish Mishra, representatives of the embassy and the University of Oriental Studies, as well as UWED professors, teachers, and students.

    During the event, university students presented traditional Indian dances, recited the best works of Indian poets and writers, and performed famous Hindi songs. The presentation of Indian national attire left a lasting impression on the audience.

    Additionally, as part of the festival, a public speaking competition in Hindi on the topic “What does India mean to me?” was organized.

    At the end of the event, Ambassador Smita Pant presented souvenirs to all active participants and expressed gratitude to the university administration for the well-organized event, emphasizing: “May the relations between Uzbekistan and India be eternal”.
