On January 28 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a presentation of the methodological manual "On the mechanisms for organizing work to combat the illegal trafficking of psychoactive substances among young people in educational organizations."

It was attended by the Director of the National Center for Drug Control Ravshan Mamatov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Otabek Makhkamov, vice-rectors and deputy deans of universities, professors, teachers and prevention inspectors.

The methodological manual covers the situation related to the illegal trafficking of psychoactive substances among young people, the causes and factors of substance abuse among students, their signs and symptoms, as well as an algorithm of actions that must be taken to prevent non-medical use of psychoactive substances. In addition, the manual also examines the penalties applied in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan for crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances.

During the presentation, the audience was given a detailed description of the content and essence of the methodological manual, as well as the main purpose of its development, the procedure and methods of its further use.

The event also discussed issues of joint work in this area and the widespread implementation of this methodological manual in higher education institutions. The recommendations provided in the methodological manual will further help specialists in the targeted and high-quality organization of educational and preventive measures to prevent drug addiction and drug crimes among students.
