UWED hosted a meeting with a delegation from the R.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies
On December 12, 2024, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) welcomed a delegation from the R.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies under the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan. The delegation included prominent figures such as Dr. Galymzhan Duysen, Deputy Director for Science, Dr. Erkin Baydarov, Chief Scientific Officer and Professor of Philosophy, and researcher Yerlan Yunusov.
The meeting brought together faculty and researchers from both institutions, including UWED's Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, G.Ismailova the Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Management, M. Khamdamov, and senior researchers from the Institute for Advanced International Studies. Discussions centered on opportunities to strengthen academic and research cooperation, especially in areas such as Central Asian studies, economic integration, and diplomacy.
The Kazakh delegation shared their ongoing research on Central Asia-China relations and expressed interest in involving UWED experts in their projects. In response, UWED emphasized its readiness to collaborate, highlighting its academic expertise and commitment to fostering regional partnerships that benefit both institutions.
Another key topic was the proposal for a doctoral exchange program, allowing students from both sides to engage in internships and collaborative research. This initiative aims to provide participants with meaningful academic and professional experiences while promoting stronger ties between the two institutions. Both parties underscored their shared vision for advancing regional studies and creating impactful academic partnerships.
