Teachers and students of the UWED participated in the Yashil Makon project
On October 25 of this year, teachers and students of the University of World Economics and Diplomacy participated in the Yashil Makon project, which was confirmed by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 30, 2021 “Measures to accelerate landscaping work in the Republic, more efficient organization of tree protection measures”.
Increasing the number of trees to normalize average air temperatures in cities, reduce CO2 emissions and improve the air purity index is also emphasized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
At 10:30 Tashkent time, the Yashil Makon project was launched, 10 university professors, technical staff and more than 100 students from three faculties took part in the project. A total of 100 trees were planted in the green area in front of the main entrance gate of our university.
As a result of the project, the students became convinced that environmental protection is an issue at the level of state policy in our country, and in practice they witnessed that each of us can contribute to greening and preserving nature.
