On May 10 of this year, as part of the “Student Spring” youth festival, the “Festival of Francophonie” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The celebration dedicated to the French language and culture, along with teachers and students of UWED, was attended by the Counselor of the French Embassy for Culture and Cooperation Laurent Auriol, the regional attaché for educational cooperation Serge Bellini, and the former honorary consul of Belgium in Uzbekistan Jean-Claude Beaujean.

The event opened with a screening of a film dedicated to diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and France.

Then a colorful cultural program prepared by UWED students took place. Popular songs, excerpts from works of famous poets and prose writers in French were sung, and dance numbers were performed.

The holiday of French language and culture at UWED has become a symbol of growing friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Uzbekistan and France.
