On January 24, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a meeting with a delegation from Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), led by UNEC’s Vice-rector for international relations and programs G. Gasanov, Head of Research Centers R. Guseynova, and Head of the International Cooperation Department A. Alakbarova.

The UWED delegation was represented by G. Ismailova, Vice-Rector for science and innovation, M. Khamdamov, Dean of the Faculty of “International Economics and Management”, L. Tashpulatova, Head of the Department of “International Economy”, U. Sharipova, Head of the Department of “International Finance and Investments”, and representatives from the International Academic Cooperation Office.

At the beginning of the meeting, both sides shared insights into the activities of UWED and UNEC, covering their educational programs and research priorities.

The conversation then turned to potential areas for collaboration with the Azerbaijani delegation, including student exchange initiatives, co-authoring scientific publications, faculty development programs, and the hosting of joint seminars and conferences.

By the conclusion of the meeting, representatives from both UWED and UNEC affirmed their willingness to establish a mutually beneficial partnership and agreed to pursue joint projects moving forward.
