On December 12th, an online meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Sweden, Mr. Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov.

The meeting was attended by First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of UWED Akram Umarov, the Director of the UWED Academic Lyceum - Oydin Mannopova, representative of the Diplomatic Academy at UWED, Deans of the Faculties of World Economy and Management, International Relations, International Law and Executive Education, Heads of the Educational and Methodological Department and the International Academic Cooperation Office, and Heads of Departments of UWED.

During the meeting, Mr. Umarov highlighted the prospective areas of collaboration between UWED and Swedish universities, as well as opportunities to build cooperation with think tanks in the Scandinavian country. The vice-rector also emphasized UWED’s readiness to strengthen and further develop bilateral interaction.

In response, the ambassador supported the initiatives, emphasized key aspects important for the further development of cooperation, and also confirmed the embassy's willingness to provide practical assistance in implementing the UMED initiatives.

During the discussions, topics related to joint projects prospects with leading Swedish universities and research institutions, organization of exchange programs for students and faculty, and the opportunities for Swedish professors to participate in educational and research projects at UWED.

Following the meeting, participants agreed to continue the cooperation between UWED and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Sweden to strengthen academic interaction with Swedish educational and scientific communities.
