On October 25 of this year, as part of the "Week of International Cooperation Initiatives in Uzbekistan", a round table was held on the topic "Uzbekistan's Foreign Policy: Openness and Prosperity for the Sake of Peace".

The event was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhromjon Aloev, politicians and experts from leading countries of the world, as well as the faculty, graduate students and students of UWED.

In his speech, S. Safoev emphasized that in recent years the country has been confidently following a strategic course towards openness, cooperation and prosperity, aimed at strengthening peace and stability both in the region and at the global level.

"Uzbekistan is expanding bilateral and multilateral relations with key states and international organizations. The most important direction remains strengthening ties with neighboring Central Asian states, which contributes to the creation of a stable and interconnected region," he noted.

The participants of the round table focused their attention on the fact that one of the central directions of Uzbekistan's foreign policy has become openness to international economic relations. The country actively attracts foreign investment and cooperates with international financial organizations to implement large-scale infrastructure projects. Thanks to reforms and an improved business climate, Uzbekistan is becoming an attractive market for foreign investors.

It was emphasized that one of the key formats of Uzbekistan's foreign policy is the intensification of parliamentary diplomacy. Parliamentary friendship groups with various countries facilitate the exchange of experience and strengthen mutual understanding at the legislative level.

Uzbekistan's foreign policy is also aimed at developing humanitarian cooperation. The student exchange program is expanding, quotas for foreign students at the country's universities are increasing, and work is being carried out to promote Uzbek culture abroad, which strengthens international cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres.

In their conclusions, the roundtable participants reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to an open, pragmatic and peaceful foreign policy aimed at ensuring long-term stability and prosperity in the region.
