The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a festival of intercultural communication
At the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, a vibrant festival of intercultural communication, organized by the English Language Department, recently took place. The event saw the participation of UWED’s faculty and students, as well as representatives from international organizations.
As part of the festivities, first-year students showcased the unique cultural aspects of 11 different countries.
The festival was divided into three engaging parts: a cultural fair and country presentation, a role-playing demonstration of traditions, and a performance of a national dance or song.
The celebration commenced with a delectable display of national dishes, followed by captivating presentations about each country. Participants were enthralled by the Indian wedding day tradition, enthusiastically applauding the groom and bride's energetic dance. Not to be outdone, the students representing Georgia's culture and traditions captivated the audience with their renowned national dance. Meanwhile, the US team transported viewers into the world of Hollywood, showcasing American Hip-hop and performing the legendary rock band Bon Jovi's iconic song “It’s My Life”.
The entire event was conducted in English, encouraging students to immerse themselves in the world of international communication.
