On April 8 of the this year, a celebration marking the twentieth anniversary of teaching the Italian language took place at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan, Agostino Pinna and the rector of the University of Perugia (Università degli Studi di Perugia), Valerio De Cesaris.

Welcoming the guests, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev, noted the active development of Uzbek-Italian relations in various spheres and emphasized the strengthening of cooperation in the field of higher education.

Rector Valerio De Cesaris expressed interest in organizing internships for UWED students in Italy, enhancing the qualifications of Italian language teachers, as well as jointly conducting scientific and cultural events.

 Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cultural and Scientific Cooperation between the University of Perugia and UWED.

As part of the celebration dedicated to the 20th anniversary of teaching Italian language at UWED, a colorful concert program took place. Students performed poems, songs, and even excerpts from operas in Italian.

At the end of the event, Ambassador Agostino Pinna thanked the teachers and students of UWED for their great attention to the Italian language.
