UWED and the British Council became partners in the IELTS Program
The University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the British Council have entered into an agreement to open an IELTS Registration center at UWED.
The document was signed on July 25, this year following a meeting between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev and Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan Denise Waddingham.
S. Safoev drew attention to the great interest in Uzbekistan in learning English and the great opportunities that open up in this regard for young people.
“In Uzbekistan, much attention is paid to the study of foreign languages. In this series, teaching English is one of the priorities, as it opens up great prospects for professional growth in various fields,” he said.
In turn, Denisa Weddingham expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the UWED for supporting educational projects, including the British Council.
“We highly appreciate the capabilities of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and are confident in the successful work of the IELTS registration center here,” she said.
According to the signed agreement, UWED receives the status of a member of the IELTS Partnership Program of the British Council. The program provides training for UWED staff, providing free digital resources for English learners such as videos, podcasts, online courses, practice tests and mobile apps.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Executive Education of the UWED Bahrom Salakhitdinov and the head of the examination activities of the British Council in Uzbekistan Andrey Maksakov.
